The Stables Gallery is now a beautiful, double-height and light-filled space which can be used for a variety of activities by our wedding couples and their guests.
It started life as Broxmouth Park Estate’s stable court in the late 18th Century and was remodelled in 1841 to include two ranges with stables and a coach house, overlooking the cobbled courtyard and oval drinking trough.
Just a few years ago the courtyard stables were a series of unused barn lofts and carriage houses, waiting to be brought back to life.
Today it’s used as our beautiful ceremony room for weddings, complete with a characterful arched windows, a stylish, reclaimed parquet floor, feature light fittings and a minstrels’ gallery. It’s widely used for our stunning wedding ceremonies; however, this room has so much more to offer.
DANCE FLOOR
If you’re thinking about booking a DJ for your wedding day, or even a small ceilidh band, did you know that you could use the Stables Gallery for your dance floor space? For weddings with guest numbers below 120, this space is ideal, and the benefit is that you can move from your wedding breakfast and glide straight into your evening party seamlessly!
Your entertainment can set up whilst you are enjoying your meal and It’s a space with real atmosphere. But be warned you’ll not have room for lots of furniture . . . dance floor only ladies and gents!
CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA
Do you plan on hosting children at your wedding? If you book an event nanny with activity areas, for instance a soft play for the little ones, a games console and screen/projector for the older kids, arts and crafts, or indoor games, then voila! The Stables Gallery provides a huge entertainment space for your nanny’s activities that will keep younger guests occupied through even the longest of speeches!
CASINO ROOM
After dinner Roulette anyone? You’ve got it! Keep your main party in the dining room but book some professional casino tables for the Stables Gallery. When you’ve finished your wedding breakfast you can guarantee that your guests will be kept entertained – Lots of companies hire out the tables and provide a croupier to run the games so you can sit back and have fun. Guests win chips and you could have a prize for the person who gets the most.
CHILLOUT LOUNGE
In the evening, the buzz of the dance floor in the Dining Hall might mean some guests decide to seek out a quieter setting to connect with friends and family. Of course, our Tack Room Bar and Lounge is great for this, but if you’ve got more guests, or groups who you know will seek out a quieter space, then you might want to look at rearranging the Stables Gallery to facilitate this.
Why not book a room stylist to bring in some soft furnishings and rugs to dress the room, dim the lighting and fill the room with candles (LED preferred) and you’ve got yourself a lovely chill out lounge.
Our Bluetooth sound system can play your favourite relaxed tunes and you could even book in an after-dinner round of espresso martinis or a self-serve hot drinks station for your guests, because let’s face it sometimes you can’t beat a good old cuppa!
Our ceremony room is clearly not just for ceremonies! Our advice to couples – always think outside the box when working out how best to utilise the venue’s spaces. We’re here to help you turn you’re wedding dreams to reality, and love when you’re looking at doing something a little different!
