This pyramid-roofed gate lodge has been restored and updated to provide everything you need from a relaxing break away. The location makes a perfect spot for a family holiday, friends or family event and it is also placed amongst 22 golf courses within 30 minutes radius – Dunbar Golf Club are our neighbours. On your doorstep you’ll experience 150 acres of private Broxmouth Estate surrounded by beautiful beaches, wildlife and surfing.

South Lodge is a stunning 18th Century A-listed lodge, set on the perimeter of the 150 acre Broxmouth Park Estate in Dunbar, East Lothian. Dunbar is a beautiful fishing town situated on the most picturesque coasts of East Lothian. It surrounded by a choice of stunning beaches within a 20 minutes radius Belhaven Bay, White Sands, Yellowcraig, Tyninghame, North Berwick and Pease Bay. Whether you feel like surfing or just enjoying the tranquil of the location, there are plenty of options. Many of the 22 golf courses for all levels of golfers are Championship courses – making East Lothian a paradise for golfers. Broxmouth Estate is in fact adjacent to the Dunbar Golf Club which is an Open qualifying venue and is considered as one of the best links courses in Scotland. Additionally, within only 20 minutes’ drive you will arrive at Muirfield which is world renowned and host to the British Open.
Dunbar offers a wealth of activities for famillies. There is the East Links Family Fun Park which has animals for the children to feed, train rides and an amazing fort for them to play on. We also have Fox Lake on our doorstep which offers lots of different activities like Wakeboarding and rope courses just to mention a few. Additionally, in Dunbar you can find one of the biggest indoor swimming pools in East Lothian with a wave machine – massive attraction for children!
If you’re feeling adventurous boat trips can also be arranged for in the Dunbar harbour. Belhaven beach is also great for surfing and Coast to Coast offer full kit hire.
Short drive from Broxmouth Estate you can explore the famous Concorde at the Museum of Flight in addition to many historic and modern aircrafts. The Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick is also a very popular family attraction facing the all-white Bass Rock.
If you are looking for some arts and festival experiences, Edinburgh is only 30 minutes’ drive or 20 minutes train journey away – offering some of the most incredible festivals all year round and especially in July and August – the International Festival, Festival Fringe and Military Tattoo.

ACCOMMODATION
Broxmouth Park is full of character, history and natural tranquillity! The Park is perfect and a natural oasis of peace for those who enjoy walks also accompanied by your four-legged companions. On occasion you might be lucky to even catch a glimpse of deer roaming round in the woods.
The South Lodge combines the charms of a country retreat with high-quality finishes. The property can easily accommodate 6 people across 3 double bedrooms, and a 6-person hot tub is kept at around 40C for guests– providing a chance to relax whatever the weather!
There is one family bathroom downstairs, featuring a large walk-in shower and high-spec tiling throughout accessed from the main hallway, along with a separate WC.
On entering the cottage you’ll find bedroom 1 on the left. This spacious and well appointed bedroom has been upgraded to en-suite, and sits within the original historic part of the building, dating from c. 1740.
Further along the hall a set of wooden stairs skirt around the exterior of what was the original building, and lead to the Master bedroom on the 1st floor. The Master bedroom benefits from a double-height ceiling, large windows on all walls to allow light to flood into the room throughout the day, and multiple built-in Edinburgh press cupboards for storage. Within the room is a comfortable double bed, plus a freestanding bath and separate sink.
Back to the ground floor, and here you’ll find a beautifully equipped WC, next door to the family bathroom.
The final bedroom in the property is another double and benefits from glazed double doors to the decked area along with a window on the other external wall, ensuring that the room has dual aspects and is light-filled and bright for the majority of the day.
The kitchen diner with open plan lounge is the final room at South Lodge and boast glazed double doors opening out onto the decked area, which sweeps around the exterior of the buildings later additional. The kitchen is newly installed and comes complete with dishwasher, fridge, freezer and other mod cons. A welcoming dining table and accompanying benches seat 6 perfectly, and there’s ample seating in the lounge for everyone staying over.
The hot tub is set on the lodge’s decked area and can be accessed from the lounge, from the downstairs bedroom via its double doors or guests can walk around from the front door to reach the decking and hot tub.
LOCATION
Broxmouth Park is on the A1087, 1 1/4 miles to the east of Dunbar. Exit the A1 where you see the brown sign East Lothian Tourist Trail, continue 200 metres turning right into the driveway between large curved walls and pillars.

All towels and bed linen are provided together with tea towels.
The kitchen comes equipped with all the necessities eg washing-up liquid etc.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

The changeover day is flexible. Check-out time is 10am and check-in is after 4pm.
