Historical Profile

In the New Statistical Account of Scotland, published in the 1840’s the Dunbar parish minister wrote:

Queen Victoria visited Broxmouth in August 1878 and planted the cedar tree to the south west of the house during her stay. The iron staircase leading to the balcony of the bow fronted dining room is said to have been installed to give her private access from her room to Cromwell's mount and the grounds.
